Dysport

An FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A product—similar to Botox—that works by relaxing targeted facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles mainly between the brows, forehead lines and crow’s feet.

An excellent treatment for underarm excessive sweating.

Dysport lasts roughly 4 months, activates (for the most part) within 1-2 days and looks softer and more natural compared to other Botulinum toxins.

Commonly asked questions about Dysport.

FAQs

  • Dysport is an injection administered by a licensed healthcare professional for temporary improvement in moderate to severe wrinkles.  Dysport is a botulinum neurotoxin (abobotulinumtoxinA), an acetylcholine release inhibitor and a neuromuscular blocking agent. It temporarily prevents specific muscle movements that cause frown lines.

  • Dysport and Botox are both made from botulinum toxin type A. All botulinum toxins have the same mechanism of action: blocking the release of acetylcholine (ACh) and preventing the muscles from contracting to maintain the aesthetic effect.

  • Dysport results typically last 3 to 5 months, depending on your unique facial muscles, metabolism, and treatment area. Many patients schedule maintenance treatments every 3–4 months to keep their results looking smooth and natural.

Factors like dosage, facial movement, and consistency with past treatments can all influence how long your results will last. Your provider will help you create a personalized plan that aligns with your goals and lifestyle.

  • Most patients start to see visible results from Dysport within 2 to 3 days after treatment, with full results typically appearing by day 7 to 10.

Compared to other wrinkle relaxers, Dysport is known for its fast onset, making it a popular choice for those looking for quicker results before events or special occasions.

What to expect from Dysport.

    • Do not have Dysport treatments if you are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, have a skin infection at the planned injection site, under 18 years of age, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    • Tell your doctor about any swallowing or breathing difficulties and muscle or nerve conditions.

    • Avoid herbal supplements such as Ginko, green tea and anti-inflammatories of any kind for one week before and following treatment to limit bruising.

    • Although office visits can vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes.

    • Do not participate in activities that include heavy lifting, vigorous exercise or straining for 2 hours.

    • Avoid irritating products for 24 hours following Dysport.

    • Bruising in the area injected can occur. Bruising can last up to several days and using Arnica or Alastin’s Post Injection Serum may help diminish bruising.

    • Though results vary, changes can be seen in as little as 24 hours, with over half of users seeing improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows within 2-3 days.

    • One treatment of Dysport can last 4 months on average.

Sculptra

An FDA-approved injectable treatment that gradually restores facial volume by stimulating your body’s own collagen production. A truly reparative treatment using your body to heal and regenerate.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers that add immediate volume, Sculptra works over time to rebuild the skin’s underlying structure, offering natural-looking, long-lasting results.

Results will continue for 2 years and onward.

FAQs

Commonly asked questions about Sculptra.

  • Sculptra helps stimulate natural collagen production. The poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) in Sculptra forms a framework that helps support and maintain the skin’s inner structure, which may lead to a more youthful-looking appearance.

  • Sculptra helps restore your skin’s foundation by stimulating your natural collagen production to firm and smooth the entire cheek region and tighten the skin along the jawline.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which fill lines, wrinkles, and folds, Sculptra is the original FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) collagen stimulator that can improve skin glow, tightness, and jawline contour for up to 2 years.

Results will start to show after a few months and typically present around 4 months after injection.

  • Sculptra results can last up to 2 years or more, making it one of the longest-lasting injectables available.

Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production, so results appear gradually over a few weeks and continue to improve with each session. Most patients require a series of 2 to 3 treatments, spaced a few weeks apart, to achieve optimal volume restoration.

Because the results build naturally and last longer, many patients consider Sculptra a more gradual, long-term investment in facial rejuvenation.

  • You may need one to four treatment sessions (typically three) to achieve the optimal correction possible.

  • Sculptra is not a traditional dermal filler—it’s a biostimulatory injectable. While it does help restore volume and smooth wrinkles like other fillers, it works differently.

Instead of instantly filling lines with gel (like hyaluronic acid fillers), Sculptra stimulates your body’s natural collagen production over time. The result is a gradual, natural-looking improvement in skin thickness, firmness, and volume.

So while it’s often grouped with fillers, Sculptra is technically a collagen stimulator, not a volumizing gel.

What to expect from Sculptra.

  • You should not get Sculptra if you:

    • Have severe allergies with a history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis) or multiple severe allergies. Use of Sculptra may result in an allergic reaction.

    • Are allergic to any ingredient of Sculptra: “poly-L-lactic acid” (PLLA), carboxymethylcellulose (USP) or non-pyrogenic mannitol (USP).

    • Previously had or have risks factors for hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation.

  • You can expect the appointment to be about an hour and a half to two hours including numbing and massaging time.

As with any injection, to decrease pain during injection, a topical or a local anesthetic may be used when injecting Sculptra. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment to receive a topical numbing agent.

  • An ice pack should be applied to the treatment area to help reduce swelling unless otherwise directed by your healthcare professional.

As with any injectable wrinkle filler, you can expect injection-related side effects, such as bleeding, tenderness or pain/discomfort, redness, bruising or swelling. These side effects generally resolve within a few hours to a few days but could last for 14 days or longer.

Avoiding or minimizing strenuous exercise and exposure to extensive sun.

Our team should see you again 3-4 weeks after each treatment session to assess whether you need additional treatment.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers

SERVICES > FILLERS

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are made from a naturally occurring sugar molecule found abundantly throughout the human body — in the skin, connective tissue, and joints — where it plays a vital role in retaining moisture and maintaining volume.

Because HA is a substance the body already produces and recognizes, the immune system does not identify it as foreign, which is why allergic reactions and rejection are exceptionally rare.

The synthetic HA used in dermal fillers is biocompatible and biodegradable, meaning it safely integrates into the tissue and is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body over time.

This remarkable compatibility, combined with its ability to attract and hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, makes HA the gold standard ingredient in cosmetic fillers for restoring lost volume, smoothing lines, and enhancing natural contours with beautiful, long-lasting results.

Commonly asked questions about HA Dermal Fillers.

FAQs

  • Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial features for a more youthful appearance. They are commonly used in areas like the cheeks, lips, jawline, and under the eyes, and can also soften folds and fine lines.

  • Dermal fillers are injections used to diminish wrinkles, restore fullness, enhance areas of the face in order to look more youthful.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps provide hydration, fullness, and elasticity. This diminishes as we age, causing skin to lose volume while increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear.  In addition, gravity will pull our midface down more than we would like, enhancing our nasolabial folds, marionette lines and jowels.

  • Yes. Restylane® dermal fillers use clear gel formulations of Hyaluronic Acid. As the original non-animal stabilized HA filler, Restylane® was designed to be closest to the body's own hyaluronic acid with minimal crosslinking and was the first to be approved by the US FDA.

What to expect from HA Dermal Fillers.

  • Restylane products should not be used by people who:

    • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 22 years of age.

    • Have recently used drugs that thin the blood or prevent clotting.

    • Have serious allergies to drugs that have previously required in-hospital treatment.

    • Have bleeding disorders.

    • Have a known allergy to lidocaine (Restylane-L, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, Restylane Kysse, Restylane Refyne, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Contour, and Restylane Eyelight all contain lidocaine. Restylane is the only product that does not contain lidocaine).

  • Although office visits can vary, the procedure generally takes 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Use cold compresses to reduce swelling.

If you have a history of cold sores, talk with your injector before your appointment about medications that may minimize the likelihood of an outbreak. Needle punctures to the lip may increase the likelihood of cold sore recurrence.

Avoid taking aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen), St. John's wort or high doses of vitamin E supplements. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Minimize strenuous exercise and exposure to excessive heat, sun, or UV lamps for the first 24 hours after treatment. Exposure to any of these may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection site. Until there is no redness or swelling, avoid exposure of the treated area to intense cold or heat such as sun lamps or sunbathing.
